As the trail continues to evolve and in an effort to make sure that we can continue to grow and build participation I have been kicking around a major change for next season. Our schedule is very spread out right now and while some guys liked the idea of fishing all over the state it has become apparent that they don't want to make the drive required to get to those places. Here is one idea that I am playing with for next season. Please read and give me your input. The most important thing to me is that we continue to run the trail the way you guys want it run so please make sure to give me your thoughts.
I think it would make things easier and help build participation if we fish the Coosa chain exclusively. 11 regular season tournaments with a classic to end the season. With 6 lakes (Weiss, Neely Henry, Logan Martin, Lay, Mitchell and Jordan) on the Coosa we could fish 5 lakes twice and the other once. With Weiss being the farthest lake from most members I would suggest that we fish it one time per year and the rest of the chain twice. The classic would be a blind draw and would also be one of the lakes on the Coosa.
Cumulative weight would no longer be a factor so that everyone will have an equal playing field going into the classic. In order to fish the classic you would have to fish a minimum of 6 regular season tournaments.
What do you guys think?

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

Thanks man. I'm hoping it will help build membership. Check out the UMF format thread. You might be interested in that.

Can't wait to see how this changes things if we go with it. I really think it will be a positive change.

Yep, I think staying on the Coosa will be a good deal too.
