Fished the big fish tourney out of D&S (Grampy's Bait Shop) with Mitchell Curlee. We decided to run upriver and fish main channel ledges looking for a big bite. We pulled in on our spot and immediately noticed tons of baitfish, some really great structure and the fact that they had just started pulling some water so we had pretty good current. Just a few casts into the evening I put our first and only fish in the boat with a 2.9 lb spotted bass. As soon as I dropped the fish in the livewell and got back on the trolling motor it broke. Steering cable turned loose and we fished the rest of the night without a working trolling motor.
Dropped the Triton off at Airport Marine this morning for 100 hour service, a few minor warranty repairs and a brand new Fortrex. Can't wait to get on this new motor. I am hearing that they are super quiet and the lift assist will be nice too.

That's a good question... I would love to know how many hours that motor had on it.
