Let's try to get this thing started. We need 16 people to get started. Each person will pay an entry fee of $50 for the entire event. Total pot will be $800 paid out $550 to 1st place and $250 to second place. We'll keep it very simple and flexible. The first month there will be 8 pairings, second month will be 4 pairings, third month will be 2 pairings and the fourth month will be a single pairing to determine the last man standing. Single elimination...
Pairings will be announced on the 1st day of each month and each group will have the entire calendar month to fish their event. This will give you time to get together, pick a date, pick a lake and decide whose boat to use.
RULES
1. Each day will consist of four 2 hour quarters. A coin toss will determine which angler gets 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th.
2. At the beginning of each quarter the angler will get a free run that does not count against his 2 hours. If you move in the middle of your quarter, the clock will continue to run.
3. The boat owner will operate the gas motor but must be willing to allow the other person to use the trolling motor during his 2 quarters. If you are not willing to allow the other guy to operate your trolling motor then don't sign up.
4. Each angler will weigh his best 5 fish. Fish may be weighed upon catch and released immediately or may be kept in livewell and weighed at end of day. ALL FISH MUST BE WEIGHED ON THE SAME SET OF SCALES. Anglers must agree to whose scales they will use before blasting off.
5. Each paired group of anglers must work together to agree on how they will fish their mini-tournament. Agree on a lake, whose boat to use, whose scales to use, etc. It is your day so you can basically set your own rules as long as at the end of the day you have 8 hours total fishing time and one angler is eliminated. Winning and losing weight must be reported to director via email within 24 hours of event. In the event that one pairing does not complete their event both anglers will be eliminated and the losing angler with the highest weight for that round will advance in their place.
6. Be courteous. Angler in the front fishes in front of console and angler in back fishes behind console. If you choose to backseat your opponent, remember that turnabout is fair play so be courteous and have a good time. Help each other out and fish a fair game.
7. Share expenses equally.
8. In order to maintain a level playing field no angler may fish the same lake twice. If you fish a lake in any round it will be off limits to you and your opponent in each later round unless mutually agreed otherwise.
If you are interested in fishing please reply to this post and let us know that you are in. You are not registered until your entry fee has been received and registration will end immediately when I receive the 16th entry fee. Tournament will begin on the first day of the following month.
